Mayor launches awards to celebrate the best of the West Midlands in partnership with Woodbourne Group
Mayor of the West Midlands, Richard Parker, today launched his inaugural awards to recognise and celebrate individuals and groups making an outstanding contribution to life across the region.
The Mayor’s Awards are delivered in partnership with Woodbourne Group – a development, investment and private equity business with a long-term commitment to regeneration, innovation and inclusive growth across the West Midlands.
The ten award categories reflect the Mayor’s key priorities and offer a unique opportunity to highlight the individuals, organisations and projects helping to make the West Midlands an exceptional place.
Nominations can be made from today on the WMCA website.
Mr Parker said:
“Since I became Mayor, not a day has gone by when I haven’t met, spoken to or heard about a person or group in our region who is working tirelessly to make the West Midlands the best place to live, work and visit.
“And I am certain that’s just the tip of the iceberg, so it’s time we shine a light on our amazing people, organisations and communities and bring them the recognition they deserve.
These awards are about celebrating the people and organisations who make the West Midlands such a special place. I’m delighted to be working alongside Woodbourne Group to recognise those who are making a real difference across our region.
“If you know an individual, group, business or organisation who represents the very best of our region, please submit your nomination today.”
Chief Executive of Woodbourne Group, Tani Dulay said:
“Through Birmingham Knowledge Quarter, we see first hand the importance of collaboration between the public and private sector in supporting long-term regional growth. We are pleased to support the Mayor’s Awards which help recognise those whose work is strengthening the West Midlands and creating opportunities for people across the region.”
